Software Engineer
University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute (UFPTI), located in Jacksonville, Florida, has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, support, and improvement of software packages supporting advanced radiotherapy management, planning, and delivery. Examples of such software packages may include web-enabled database tools for patient clinical flow management; radiotherapy machine and patient quality assurance; treatment planning database; aperture and compensator ordering and accounting.
Job functions include assisting faculty physicists, in conjunction with the IT Services Department, to identify the technical resources required of software packages in support of UFPTI’s clinical operations. Requires individual to display a wide degree of creativity and latitude within the position in order to accomplish desired objectives.
Qualified candidates must have prior experience with developing Microsoft Windows-based software application packages with web-enabled user interfaces such as object-oriented programming and web-based applications. Must have prior experience with C++ programming in a graphical environment such as Microsoft Visual Studio Experience in graphical user interface design in a Windows environment required. Prior experience with SQL/MS Access database and .NET programming required. JAVA programming, administration and application development skills on UNIX or one of its variants are preferred.
In addition, candidates must have above average mathematical skills for implementation of data analysis algorithms, be a quick learner and effective in making solid judgments; good research skills and goal oriented; excellent communication and time management skills; ability to multi-task and have attention to detail with a high level of quality output. Ability to manage stressful situations effectively and have good follow through.

MA/CSR
Florida Proton Therapy Institute, Inc., located in Jacksonville, Florida, has an opening for a Medical Assistant/CSR. This position is responsible for assisting with front office clerical responsibilities and back office clinical responsibilities to include scheduling patient appointments and diagnostic tests, interviewing patients for demographic and financial information, registering patients, taking vital signs, assisting with patient exams and procedures, and performing some clinical tasks. Excellent customer service is required in all interactions.
Qualified candidates will have excellent verbal communication skills, critical thinking, and initiative. Must be detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and organize workflow. Ability to handle busy or stressful situations in a professional, customer service focused manner.
Ambulatory health care and oncology experience preferred. Must have good math and computer skills. Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program. Current certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants or Registration by the American Society of Medical Technologists. Current BLS certification required. RN Case Manager
The University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute (UFPTI), located in Jacksonville, Florida, has an opening for two RN Case Managers. Individuals will be responsible for the ongoing assessment of assigned patients and, in conjunction with other health care providers, will assist in developing a comprehensive plan of care for patients. RN Case Managers will work closely with physicians on a day to day basis and collaborate with other members of the health care team to insure the patient’s needs are met in a timely fashion. Positions are primarily day time hours, but some evening rotation will be required.
Qualified candidates should have excellent communication and critical thinking skills along with self-initiative and above average organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with a diverse staff and patient population. Clinical assessment skills and the knowledge to develop, implement, evaluate, and modify a plan of care. Prior experience in ambulatory health care, oncology, and case management strongly preferred. Associate degree or diploma in nursing required; BSN preferred. Must have current, valid Florida RN license in good standing and be certified in BLS.

Pediatric RN Case Manager
The University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute (UFPTI), located in Jacksonville, Florida, has an opening for an RN Case Manager in our Pediatric area. Individuals will be responsible for the ongoing assessment of assigned patients from referral through treatment and follow-up. Individual will also work in conjunction with other health care providers and assist in developing a comprehensive plan of care for our pediatric patients.
Qualified candidates should have excellent communication and critical thinking skills along with self-initiative and above average organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with a diverse staff and patient population. Must have a minimum of two years pediatric nursing experience. Ambulatory health care, oncology, and case management experience strongly preferred. Clinical assessment skills and the knowledge to develop, implement, evaluate, and modify a plan of care is required. Associate degree or diploma in nursing required; BSN preferred. Must have current, valid Florida RN license in good standing and be certified in BLS.
